Activities
Apart from the day and night game drives, we offer a variety of interesting activities to spice up your experience in the beautiful Samburu National Reserve. Please find our activities at the end of your guest’s information. Your Manager will assist you in case of any clarification. All bookings can be made through reception or your Manager.
Beverages
Whether you’re in the lounge, dining area, soaking in the sunset at our sundowner deck, or lounging by the pool we’ve got beverages ready for you. For those not on the inclusive drinks package, your drinks will be billed according to consumption. Your waiter will give you a daily voucher/receipt for your drinks – sign these and put your tent number on them. Your final bill will be ready at reception just before you depart.

Game Package
If you’ve booked a game package, your adventure will be in our 4×4 safari-equipped Land Cruisers. You may be sharing the vehicle with other guests. If you want a private safari vehicle, let us know in advance.Morning Game Drive

Afternoon Game Drive
4:00 pm until 6:30 pm.
Check-in/Check-out
Your room is all set for you from 12:00 pm, and we kindly ask that you check out by 10:00 am. If you’re hoping for a late check-out, chat with our lodge manager, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you based on availability.
Children
We love having little adventurers around, but we always ask that an adult accompany them. As their parents or guardians, we trust you to keep a watchful eye on them.
Community & bed night fees
We’re proud to say that the bed night fees are included in your stay and paid to our local community at the end of each month. It’s just one of the ways we practice responsible tourism.
Drinking Water
Stay hydrated with our filtered mineral water at the bar and in-room dispensers. It’s also perfect for brushing your teeth.
Electricity
Soroi Samburu Lodge is an Eco-lodge. We run on solar power with a backup generator. If you have any high-power appliances, please let our manager know. And remember, every bit helps – switch off lights not in use to conserve power.
Environmental Responsibility
We’re proud of our eco-friendly credentials. We’ve built our Lodge with local materials and don’t allow single-use plastics.
Laundry
Our laundry service is available as per the laundry list. Weather permitting, your laundry items will be washed and returned to you within 24 hours. Simply place your laundry in the basket and complete the laundry list. We do ask that you handle your undergarments.
Lighting in the rooms
Our room lights are solar-powered, so we kindly ask that you switch them off when you leave your room.
Mini-bar in your room
Superior & executive villa rooms come with a mini bar. If there’s anything specific, you’d like stocked, just let us know.
Medical Emergencies
If you require medical attention, please notify our Lodge Manager immediately. We can arrange for transport to the nearest medical facility. The manager’s mobile contact is +254 758 585932
Payment for extras
We encourage a cashless payment policy via credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), mobile money or online platforms such as Pesapal and DPO links. Credit card payments attract a 5% surcharge on the total.
Picnic breakfast/lunch
Planning a day out? Let your guide know the day before, and our kitchen will prepare a picnic breakfast or lunch for you.

Procedure in case of fire – Clients
In case of fire:
Exit the room immediately and move to a clear area. Do not stop to pick up personal belongings or attempt to salvage anything.
Report any fire to a staff member immediately.
Proceed to the assembly point at Lodge entrance for a head count.
Do not re-enter until it has been declared safe by management.
Meals
Our main dining area is a warm and inviting space for all meals. You can also enjoy your meal on the river deck, by the pool, or in the privacy of your room.
Breakfast is from 6:30 to 10:00 am, and lunch is from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
Dinner is served from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Please note that extra meals will incur an additional cost.
Extra meals are payable directly. Extra Lunch USD 40 per adult
Packed Lunch USD 30 per adult.
If you have any special requirements, please inform the Lodge Manager; we are happy to cater to all dietary requirements.
Lodge fireplace
Join us by the fireplace each evening from 6:00 pm onwards, where you can reminisce about your day’s adventures over a tasty cocktail and homemade appetisers.
Safety & Surroundings
Soroi Samburu Lodge is a unique experience as it is not fenced. While we have guards protecting the Lodge 24/7, we recommend vigilance as wild animals surround you. Our askari (watchman) will accompany you around the Lodge at night. Your safety is our priority.
Smoking
In compliance with Kenyan law, smoking is prohibited in public areas. Designated smoking zones are available outside your room.
Showers
Hot and cold shower systems are available day and night. A stainless steel bucket is provided to collect cold water while waiting for the hot water. Our room stewards will use this water for cleaning and watering plants.
Swimming Pool
Dip in our infinity pool after a hot morning game drive. Pool towels are provided at the pool, hence no need to carry one from your room. We do not have a lifeguard on duty. Children must use the children’s pool under the supervision of parents or guardians.
Spa
Treat yourself to a relaxing or invigorating massage in your room [our spa next to the swimming pool still under remodelling. Contact reception.
Sundowner Deck
As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of fiery orange and tranquil purple, you’ll find no better place to relax and reflect. Sip on a selection of fine wines or our signature cocktails, tailored to enhance the serene beauty of the Samburu wilderness.
Tips
If you find our services outstanding, please feel free to tip any staff member personally. Alternatively, you can place your tip in the tip box at reception, which will be shared equally by the entire Soroi Samburu Lodge team (except your driver/guide).
Tipping is not mandatory and should only be done if you are happy with our services.
Turn-down
We provide turn-down services and will provide hot water bottles at night upon request.
Valuables
For the safety of your valuables, a safe is provided in each room. Soroi Samburu Lodge does not accept responsibility for anything lost or stolen. Please remember to leave the safe door open on checkout.
Wake-up call & morning coffee/tea
Our room steward will check with you every evening on your preferred wake-up call time and drink if not available in your room
Please let our Lodge Manager know if you have any special requirements or dietary needs. We’re more than happy to accommodate you.
